FAQ

All booking fees exclude fuel, which is charged at cost. The boats have fuel meters and we take them before and after each trip and send you an invoice for the fuel used. You do not need to refuel the boat yourselves, we will do that for you to save you time. 

There is a £1,000 security deposit payable the morning of your booking. This is returned at the end of your booking assuming the boat is returned without any damage and in good condition. A fuel deposit of £250 will also be held and refunded minus the fuel amount used after your booking. 

Yes you require RYA Powerboat Level 2, a minimum 2 years experience on a similar boat. and be at least 25 years old. 

The capacity of our boats varies depending on the type of boat. You can see the numbers on each boat page. 

All bookings are for a day starting at 9am until 5pm. You can book 2 or more consecutive days and you can of course stay in different marinas or anchorages, if you'd prefer. 

Yes, all of our boats come equipped with necessary safety gear, including life jackets and first-aid kits. The only exception are child lifejackets, which you will have to bring yourself. 

Yes, you are welcome to bring your own food and drinks on the boat. Please be sure to dispose of any rubbish properly.

If we determine that the weather is not safe for boating, we will reschedule your rental free of charge.

Whilst we love dogs at Shackle's Ships, we are afraid that our boats aren't able to host our furry ones. 

Bookings can be cancelled up to 30-days prior for a refund. Bookings can be changed free of charge up to 14-days prior to the booking date.
